PRACTICE

The practice was founded in 1968, providing building surveying and architectural services to commercial and industrial clients.  As part of building consultancy, the Practice dealt with all Party Wall and boundary matters in connection with in-house architectural services and as Appointed Surveyors under the London Building Acts (Amendment) Act 1939. 

Since 1968, Keith Douglas, the Principal of the Partnership, has published several hundred awards and Separating Wall Agreements.

Amongst clients appointing us to act on their behalf in Party Wall and boundary matters are Ashdale Land and Development Company Limited (Eagle Star), Brakspear & Sons plc, Chartwell Land plc, Elys of Wimbledon, Haymarket Publishing Limited, Helical Bar plc, Innspired Pubs plc, Inntrepreneur Pub Company Limited, Kingfisher plc, Marks and Spencer plc, P & O Properties plc (formerly Town & City Properties), Spring Inns Limited, Stuart Turner Limited, Yates Group plc. 

Geographically our appointments range from Yorkshire to the West Country and Wales.

EXPERIENCE

KEITH DOUGLAS FRICS. MCIArb. FBEng. - (PRINCIPAL) Keith Douglas devotes approximately 75% of his time to Party Wall matters, the remainder on commercial, industrial, retail surveys, dilapidations and building dispute resolution. Keith Douglas, prior to forming the Partnership, was Chief Building Surveyor to the London and Manchester based architectural and engineering Practice of Ian Fraser and Associates (subsequently Turner Lansdown Holt and Paterson), whose clients included a large number of major developers.  Projects undertaken by that Practice included Basingstoke and Uxbridge Town Centres, Nottingham Broadmarsh Centre and a number of Arndale developments, all of which involved the preparation of land surveys and negotiations with Adjoining Owners in resolution of boundary issues.

Keith Douglas has been dealing with Party Walls and boundary issues for over forty years.  He is a member of the Pyramus and Thisbe Club (London Branch), is the Thames Valley Branch representative on the Pyramus and Thisbe National Council and Chairman of the Thames Valley Branch. 

He gives talks to groups of fellow and allied professionals on the Party Wall etc. Act 1996.
